The forest as a fabulous and mystical symbol plays a central role in the staged photographs of Cecilia Szabó. In the language of fairy tales it is synonymous with wilderness and unspoilt nature, growth and transformation. When realizing her photographic concepts the artist works both alone and with dancers and actors, with the use of masks and costumes and with the use of her own body. Dance and movement improvisations are incorporated into the photographic works.
