The portrait and studio shots of Gerhard Richter and Georg Baselitz were created while the artists were busy at work. The photographer Benjamin Katz has been friends with the artists for many years. This familiarity makes it appear as though the artists are unconscious of the photographer’s presence and the beholder feels transported into the creative process. Here, the photographer uses exclusively black-and-white films, making the examination of the working process still clearer.
The exhibition will be extended until 26th November!
