From the 'Madonna in the Rubble' to the Dolce Vita on the Rhine: In the black-and-white photographs by Hermann Claasen, Theo Felten, Clemens Hartzenbusch, Karl-Hugo Schmölz, Lotte Laska, Walter Dick, Heinz Held, Chargesheimer and more, optimism and Cologne's legendary attitude towards life are reflected; at the same time, the photos show the architectonic origins of the present-day city profile. A journey through time, through the streets and districts of the Cathedral city.
